Rui Chen, a Chinese tenor currently residing in Italy, boasts an impressive musical journey that spans continents. With a foundation laid at the Central Opera House in Beijing and degrees in Singing from Xi’an Conservatory of Music (China) and Conservatory G.Verdi of Turin (Italy), Rui is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Chopin University of Music UMFC in Poland.
Rui’s international career took flight in 2017 with performances at the Shaanxi Provincial Grand Theater (China) and later at the prestigious Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Joining the Academy of Teatro alla Scala in 2019, Rui has been an integral part of acclaimed productions such as “Rigoletto” and “Il flauto magico.”
In 2023, Rui secured a contract to sing at OPERA LAB in December at the Victoria Eugenia Theater in Donostia-San Sebastián and showcased his talent in operas like “Il barbiere di Siviglia” at Teatro alla Scala and “Il diluvio universale” and “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Teatro Donizetti in the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo. This tenor’s journey reflects not only his extraordinary vocal ability but also his dedication to enriching the global opera scene.
